Heather Morton and Dr. Dallas Walz were married June 1, 2012, at VFW in WaKeeney, with Gabe Walz, brother of the groom, officiating.

Parents of the couple are David and Kristal Morton, WaKeeney, Greg and Susie Walz, St. Francis, and Doug and Terri Cappel, McCook, Neb.

Grandparents of the couple are Barbara Morton and Vergie Walz.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Honor attendant was Corey Sherfick. Attendant was Stacy Van Dam.

Best man was Joe Payne. Groomsman was Robert Voorhies. Ushers were Brett Petersen and Wes Cooper.

The bride is a 2005 graduate of Trego Community High School, a 2009 graduate of the University of Kansas with a bachelor's degree in microbiology, a 2011 graduate of KU with a bachelor's degree in clinical laboratory science, and was certified in 2011 as a medical laboratory scientist through American Society for Clinical Pathology. She is a medical laboratory scientist at Comcare, Salina.

The bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of St. Francis Community High School, a 2007 graduate of KU with a bachelor's degree in cell biology and a 2012 graduate of KU School of Medicine. He is training at Smoky Hill Family Medicine Residency Program in Salina.

A December 2012 wedding trip is planned in Cancun, Mexico. The newlyweds are at home in Salina.
