Shirley Rempe and Steve Rempe, Plainville, and Doug and Cheryl Johnson, Leoti, annouce the engagement and approaching marriage of their children, MaKenzi Rempe and Christopher Johnson.

Grandparents are Vera Jane Glick, the late Herb Glick, Ruby Rempe, Plainville, the late Louis Rempe, Joyce and Lee Suiter, Macksville, Leroy and Phannee Dutton, Peyton, Colo., Janie Johnson, Delphos, and the late Jerry Johnson.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Plainville High School and is a senior at Fort Hays State University majoring in music education and music composition.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2003 graduate of Wichita County High School and is a senior at FHSU majoring in music education and music composition. He is student-teaching in Scott City and graduate this month.

A June 6, 2009, wedding is planned at First United Methodist Church, Hays. A reception, dinner and dance will follow at the Ramada Convention Center, Hays.
