Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Roy will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary April 29, 2013.

Kenneth is a son of the late John and Olive (Morin) Roy, and his wife, Ruth, is the daughter of the late Alfred and Rosena (Hunter) Jackson. In their early married years, they lived near Stockton, and then moved to WaKeeney in the late '60s after he accepted a job in law enforcement.

The couple has enjoyed traveling in their spare time, especially visiting family in Colorado, and they have visited many states throughout the years. They plan to celebrate their anniversary by taking a trip to Alaska and Canada in August via plane, cruise ship, bus and train. They also will celebrate their anniversary in Florida with their daughter and her family next month.

The couple has a daughter, Joyce Lawson and husband, Richard, Roggen, Colo. The couple has three grandchildren, Nicole, Brianna and Maggie.

The couple was married at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Stockton, by the late Rev. Monsignor Bernard Dickman.
