Brad and Lori Schmidtberger, Victoria, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Trisha Marie Schmidtberger, to Derrick Lee Stephens, son of Gerard and Sue Stephens, Hays.

Grandparents are Frances Pfannenstiel, and Wilfred and Patricia Kreutzer, all of Hays, the late Earl Pfannenstiel, Robert and Patricia Schmidtberger, Victoria, and the late Andrew and Rosalia Stephens.

The bride-elect is a 2004 graduate of Victoria High School and a student at Wichita Area Technical College pursuing a career in nursing.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2001 graduate of Hays High School and a 2005 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a bachelor's degree in business. He is employed at Sherwin Williams, Wichita.

A Sept. 20, 2008, wedding is planned at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria.
