Carol and Wendelin "Wendy" Schumacher, Hays, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Saturday.

The couple is planning a vacation at a later date.

Children of the couple are Darren Schumacher and wife, Heather, Hays, and Stacey Meitler and husband, Darris, Lucas.

The couple has three grandchildren, Zoe Schumacher, and Jayden and Jaxson Meitler.

Carol (Schreiner) and Wendelin "Wendy" Schumacher were married Feb. 23, 1973, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
