Martin and Caroline (Schaus) Schumm celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary.
Although Martin was born in Bucovina, Illeschestie, Austria, both Martin and Caroline grew up in the Ellis area and have lived there nearly all their lives.
The couple celebrated both of their birthdays in the month of January: Martin turned 104 on Jan. 30, and Caroline turned 96 on Jan. 23.
A small family celebration was Jan. 26 in their honor.
The couple has two daughters, Beverly McLaury, Ellis, and Aleta McCloud, Wichita.
The couple has eight grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Martin and Caroline (Schaus) Schumm were married Feb. 4, 1938, in Tulsa, Okla.
