Marli Ann Smoot and Jared Daniel Schippers were married June 27, 2009, at an outdoor wedding at Custer State Park, South Dakota, with Rev. Herb Cleveland officiating, followed by a reception July 25 in Hays.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Kim Smoot, Belle Fourche, S.D., and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Schippers, Victoria.

The bride was escorted by her father.

Honor attendant was Jana White, sister of the bride. Attendants were Jessamy Ross, Amy Borovetz and Kristen Hawkins.

Best man was Brent Schippers, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Thomas Hussa, James White and Nick Kidwell.

Junior attendants were Ashlynn Smoot, Kiley Smoot and Aleah Schippers. Flower girls were Evelina White, Jacqueline Smoot, Emmarie Smoot and Adelena Schippers. Ringbearers were Trey Smoot and Blaine Smoot.

Scripture readers were Rory Smoot and Sasha Schippers.

The bride is a graduate of the University of Kansas and attends law school at the University of Cincinnati.

The bridegroom is a graduate of KU with a degree in civil engineering.

The newlyweds are at home in Covington, Ky.
