Sherry Suppes, La Crosse, and Patrick and Kathleen Suppes, Otis, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Julie Suppes, to John Hoverson, son of Dennis and Diane Myers, Wathena, and Raymond and Cindy Hoverson, Atchison.

Grandparents are Julius and Elsie Suppes, Otis, Ed and Velta Dreher, La Crosse, and Merten and Mary Bevitt, Overland Park.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Otis-Bison High School and a 2005 graduate of Northeast Kansas Technical College with a degree in computer-aided drafting. She is employed at HDR Engineering, Kansas City, Mo.

The prospective bridegroom is a 2005 graduate of Troy High School and a 2007 graduate of Highland Community College with an associate of arts degree and an associate of science degree. He earned certification as a whitetail pro guide through the Colorado Adventure Guide School. He is employed at Johnson Controls, St. Joseph, Mo.

An Oct. 23, 2010, wedding is planned at St. Anna Catholic Church, Olmitz.
