Mary Ellen and Hays Price Thacker, Luray, celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary Dec. 19, 2009. A family celebration will be at a later date.
At the time of their marriage, she was teaching at a one-room country school north of Grainfield. He was in the service and retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1984.
The couple have two children, Margaret Thomas and husband, Wayne, Topeka, and Kathy Cook and husband, Ryan, Bunker Hill.
The children have four grandchildren, Rob Thomas, Langdon; Megan Thomas, Las Vegas; and Monica Dreiling and husband, Myron, and Justin Cook and wife, Angie, all of Hays.
The couple have a great-granddaughter, Mariella Dreiling, Hays.
