Area students receive degrees from Wichita State

WICHITA -- More than 1,400 students completed their degrees at Wichita State University in spring 2013.

Undergraduate students who have attained a grade-point average of 3.9 out of a possible 4.0 received the summa cum laude award; those with an average of 3.55 received the magna cum laude award; and those with an average of 3.25 received the cum laude.

Following are names of area students who are among the spring 2013 graduates at WSU.

Grainfield: Jennifer C. Hartman, bachelor of business administration, human resource management, cum laude.

Hays: Kenneth Flora, bachelor of business administration, accounting, magna cum laude; Tarryn K. Nebel, bachelor of arts, exercise science, magna cum laude; Amber D. Saliba, bachelor of arts, communication sciences and disorders, cum laude; Phillip R. Sechtem, doctor of philosophy, communication sciences and disorders.

Hoxie: Michaela R. Mauck, bachelor of science in nursing, cum laude.

Kensington: Jessica E. Duntz, bachelor of arts, social work.

Logan: Kelli M. Berg, doctor of physical therapy.

Oakley: Alicia J. Cooksey, bachelor of fine arts, graphic design; Neal D. Hockersmith, master of business administration; Lindsay Hoff, bachelor of arts in education, elementary education, summa cum laude.

Plainville: Lauren E. Buresh, bachelor of science, dental hygiene.

Russell: Eric W. Holtorf, bachelor of arts in education, history and government 6-12, cum laude.

Sharon Springs: Shabree R. Schwartz, master of social work.
