Henry and Ruth Walz, rural Ellis, celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary July 19, 2008, with a dinner hosted by their children at the Vagabond.

Children of the couple are Roma McConkey and husband, Darris, Camdenton, Mo.; Leroy Walz and wife, Brenda, and Stephen Walz, all of rural Ellis; Linda Thompson, Corona, Calif.; and Beth Johnson and husband, Ralph, WaKeeney.

The couple have nine grandchildren, Laura, Kenrick, Ann Marie, Matthew, Cristi, Darcie, Jonathan, Daniel and Rachel. The couple have four grandchildren, Tesa, Jadon, Gage and Gabe.

Henry Walz and Ruth Noah were married Oct. 8, 1938, at Mount Pleasant Church, rural Graham County.
