Local students attending Fort Hays State University are among the 28 who have been renewed for the $1,000-per-semester Ralph and Lucile Hunter Scholarship for the 2012-13 academic year.

The Ralph and Lucile Hunter Scholarship is awarded to women who graduated from a Kansas high school on or west of U.S. Highway 183. Renewal requires full-time attendance and a minimum grade-point average of 3.3. In addition to the 28 renewals, 12 new awards went to incoming freshmen.
