MILWAUKEE -- Eric William Norris, Hays, received a master of library and information science May 17 from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee School of Information Studies.

STERLING -- Candice Williams, Russell was among the students recognized at Sterling College's annual Awards Convocation on April 3. At the convocation, Sterling College recognized scholarship winners and other outstanding students for their achievements.

Williams received the Crouse Family Scholarship, which is awarded to outstanding students majoring in education who demonstrate character traits based upon Christian teaching and an appreciation for the value of Christian truth in learning.

Sterling College is a four-year, Christ-centered, liberal arts college located in Sterling with a mission "to develop creative and thoughtful leaders who understand a maturing Christian faith."

The P.E.O. Star Scholarship was presented to Jennifer David, daughter of Kurt and Kathy David and a senior at Hays High School for 2009-10 academic year. The scholarship was presented at Hays High School and an awards ceremony by Cathy Van Doren in April. David was recommended by Chapter GS of PEO, Hays. She plans to attend the University of Kansas and to study history in the fall.

MANHATTAN -- Seven Kansas State University students have earned honors in K-State's 11th annual S. Thomas Parker Mathematics Competition.

Ashton Archer, sophomore in mechanical engineering and political science from Lucas, received honorable mention.

The competition, part of activities nationwide to promote Mathematics Awareness Month, was March 28 at K-State. Funded by the S. Thomas Parker endowment and the K-State Math Club, the competition is open to all full-time K-State students in their first or second year of college.
