SPRINGFIELD, Mo.-- Samantha Virginia Crosswhite, Ness City, graduated cum laude from Drury University on May 17. The 2005 Ness City High School graduate received a bachelor's degree in English, writing and global studies. She is the daughter of Craig and Elizabeth Crosswhite.

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Two area students were named to the Dean's List at Drury University for the spring 2008 semester.

Students must earn a grade-point average of 3.6 or greater (on a 4-point scale) while carrying a full-time course load of 12 or more semester hours.

Students from this area named to the Dean's list are Samantha Virginia Crosswhite, Ness City, and Roshelle Anita Pfeifer, Victoria.

MOSCOW, Idaho - Paulina Fernanda Starkey, Hays, has received a scholarship to the University Idaho.

More than 6,000 students have been awarded a combined $22 million in scholarships from the university for 2008-09.
