ABILENE – The Thomas More Prep-Marian volleyball team, the No. 2 ranked team in Class 3A, went 2-1 Thursday in the Abilene quadrangular.

The Monarchs picked up a big win against Concordia, the No. 3 ranked team in Class 4A Division II. The Monarchs fell 21-25, then bounced back for a 25-13, 25-16 victory.

TMP then made quick work of Lindsborg-Smoky Valley, 25-15, 25-5. Then host Abilene picked up a 23-25, 25-27, 25-19 over the Monarchs to end the night.

TMP moved to 4-1 for the season. Kayla Vitztum recorded 39 kills through the day to lead the way. Bailey Lacy had nine blocks. The Monarchs will return to action Tuesday at Phillipsburg.
