CLAFLIN — The Victoria HIgh School football team is off to a hot start to the 2017 season.
After the game was delayed Friday night, Victoria didn’t waste any time in the makeup Saturday, handing perennial state power Claflin-Central Plains a 34-8 loss on the Oiler’s home turf.
Cooper Pfanenstiel rushed for 115 yards and two scores, while Collin Kisner put up 110 yards and two rushing scores.
Victoria kept Central Plains out of the end zone until the fourth quarter.
Kisner’s 11-yard run in the second quarter started the scoring, while a Kisner 3-yard run put the Knights up 12-0 before halftime.
Pfanenstiel’s TD runs came in the fourth quarter before the Oilers got on the board.
Kisner finished 2-of-2 passing for 34 yards.
The Knights play their home opener Friday against Macksville (1-0), which defeated Ness City in action Friday.
