GOODLAND — Behind a school-record 74 for Shannen Chin, the Thomas More Prep-Marian girls’ golf team was fifth place Tuesday at the Goodland Invitational at Sugar Hills Golf Course.
Chin won the tournament, besting the old school record of 78 set by Karee Dinkel two years ago. After a six-over on the front, Chin rallied in the back nine with three birdies to finish with a 33.
Stanton County’s Rylie Cook was second with a 77 and Goodland’s Kerrigan Rudolh third at 80.
Also competing for the Monarchs were Jenna Romme (108), Haleigh Spray (121), Katy Walters (122), Alvin Inlow (13) and Michaela Dreher (133).
The Monarchs are off until Sept. 14 when they travel to Larned.
