CLAY CENTER — Shannen Chin owns another record at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School.
Chin, the Monarchs’ top golfer on the girls’ golf team, shot a 37 Thursday to win the nine-hole Clay Center Invitational. The mark set a new nine-hole school record at TMP, the old record shot by Karee Dinkel, now at Hays High School.
Chin won the event by one shot over Salina Central’s Ellis Cobb, leading TMP to a team 216 in fifth place.
The next best finisher for the Monarchs was Haleigh Spray with a 55, followed by Abby Heimerman at 59 and Katy Walters at 65.
The Monarchs will compete at home in their own invitational on Monday at Smoky Hill Country Club.
