The Fort Hays State University men’s basketball team rolled to a 3-2 record Tuesday night in a matchup with Kansas Christian College.
The Tigers jumped out big early and never looked back in a 119-48 blowout at at Gross Memorial Coliseum. Twelve Tigers saw the floor and all scored as eight Tigers reached double figures. Hadley Gillum led the way with 14 points and nine boards for the near double-double. Marcus Cooper, Trey O’Neil and Calvin Harrington each scored 12 points and Payton Stephens 13, with Isaiah Nunnery and KeShawn Wilson each chipping in 11. In addition, Brady Werth scored 10 points.
Kyler Kinnamon had six assists in the outing as all 12 Tigers recorded at least one assist each.
The Tigers shot a blazing 61 percent from the floor and made 11 3-pointers, led by two each for O’Neil, Harington, Nunnery and Grant Holmes.
FHSU also shot 71 percent from the free throw line.
The visiting Falcons shot just 26 percent from the floor and were led by 10 points from Stephone Jackson.
FHSU (3-2) is back in action Saturday in a 7:30 p.m. game against Sterling at Gross Memorial Coliseum. After that, MIAA play begins with a Nov. 30 date with Missouri Southern State University.
