Hutchinson High School’s head football and track coach Ryan Cornelsen has taken a job with another school and will leave at the end of the current school year.
Cornelsen announced the news to the football team Wednesday. Hutchinson USD 308 subsequently issued a press release.
Cornelsen coached at the Hutchinson school for four seasons, making it to the state title football game his first year. The boys’ track team won the state championship in 2017. Prior to that, Cornelsen was at Hays High School for five years. Before that, Cornelsen was the head coach at La Crosse.
The search for his successor begins immediately, according to Hutch Athletic Director Kevin Armstrong.
