ALVA, Okla. — The Fort Hays State University baseball team suffered its first loss of the season Wednesday on the road against Northwestern Oklahoma State.

And RBI single in the bottom of the 13th inning proved to be the deciding factor as the Tigers dropped to 3-1 this year.

Alex Weiss tied the game in the top of the ninth at 6-6 with a solo home run to left-center field.

Sam Capps (0-1) took the loss in relief for FHSU.

The Tigers were to host Newman in a 3 p.m. game at Larks Park today.
