Liberal girls 46, Hays High 38

The Liberal girls have lost just once all season, that coming to Hays High in January. However, the Redskins got one back.

Hays High led early after an 11-2 run, spurred by three 3-pointers for Brooke Denning.

But, the Redskins responded with a 12-2 run to eventually lead by three in the second quarter. The game was back-and-forth all night.

The Indians had a 12-5 run in the third quarter and led by five heading to the fourth, but Liberal caught fire. The Redskins, ranked No. 3 in Class 5A, had a 6-0 run and the Indians only scored two more points during the final three minutes, while Liberal (15-1, 4-1 WAC) sealed the game at the free throw line.

The Indians (10-6, 4-1 WAC) are back in action Tuesday as they return home to face Abilene at the HHS gym.
