Jayhawk fans looking for a large place to watch Saturday’s Final Four game can join others at Allen Fieldhouse.
Kansas Athletics announced Tuesday the university’s historic home court will be open to the public for the game versus Villanova at no cost. The game will be shown on the large video board.
The north, south and east entrances of Allen Fieldhouse will open at 6:30 p.m., with members of the KU pep band and spirit squad greeting fans. Tipoff is expected to be around 7:45 p.m. or 40 minutes after the conclusion of the first semifinal game pitting Loyola Chicago against Michigan, which starts at 5:09 p.m.
The fieldhouse will close immediately after the game.
Admission is free along with parking, including the parking garage adjacent to Allen Fieldhouse and the KU Central District garage. The Allen Fieldhouse Rally House store and the Booth Family Hall of Athletics will be open during the game as will concession stands on the first and second levels.
If the Jayhawks win Saturday, Allen Fieldhouse will be open for Monday night’s NCAA championship game, which tips at 8:20 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m.
