Senior offensive lineman Dalton Risner and quarterbacks Alex Delton and Skylar Thompson top a list of 15 Kansas State football players who were voted by their teammates to serve as player representatives for the 2018 season, coach Bill Snyder announced Monday.

Risner, a captain and player representative for the Wildcats each of the past two seasons, is a three-year starter and two-time All-Big 12 first-teamer. Delton, a junior, and Thompson, a sophomore, are battling for K-State’s starting QB job after each enjoyed success last season for the 8-5 Wildcats.

Other player representatives are running back Alex Barnes, defensive backs Kendall Adams, Denzel Goolsby and Colby Moore, wide receivers Dalton Schoen and Zach Reuter, defensive ends Kyle Ball and Reggie Walker, defensive tackle Trey Dishon, offensive lineman Adam Holtorf and long snappers Dalton Harman and David Tullis.

“This new class of player reps — selected by their teammates to serve as team leaders within their position groups and the entire team — contains young men who have proven to possess a quality and caring value system and a strong desire to help their teammates achieve success,” Snyder said in a news release. “We’re counting on each of them to exhibit a true and total commitment to the principles of their program and be strong enough to hold themselves and their teammates responsible and accountable to those principles. I have a great appreciation for their desire to do so.”

The news release says player representatives are expected to promote unselfishness, team concepts, unity, strong work habits, great attitude and a strong commitment toward achieving success through the team’s 16 goals.

K-State is roughly halfway through its spring practice schedule. The Wildcats will conclude spring drills with the annual Purple-White game at 1:10 p.m. April 21 in Snyder Family Stadium.

Tickets for the spring game are $5 and can be purchased at www.k-statesports.com/tickets, by phone at 1-800-221-CATS or at the main ticket office inside Bramlage Coliseum.

K-State team captains for 2018 will be announced before the start of the game.
