Tigers put up 21 runs in win at UCO

The Fort Hays State University baseball team won its fourth straight contest and snapped University of Central Oklahoma's 11-game home winning streak with a 21-19 victory Thursday afternoon. It was the most runs in a Tiger game since a 26-20 FHSU loss to University of Nebraska-Omaha on April 22, 2011 at Larks Park. FHSU moved to 11-18, 9-16 MIAA, while the Bronchos dropped to 22-8, 17-8 MIAA.
Designated hitter Cooper Langley finished 4 of 5 with five RBIs and three runs scored. He also homered. Clayton Garland and Horace Johnson also doubled.
Fort Hays scored all of its runs by the top of the sixth, including four in the third, 11 in the fifth and five in the sixth.
Then, UCO came back with two in the sixth, six in the seventh, two in the eighth and one in the ninth. FHSU had 13 hits and five errors, while UCO finished with 23 hits and four errors. Fort Hays used five pitchers and Nathan Briar earned the save and Gabe Cook the victory. UCO had seven pitchers and Tyler Price took the loss.
