Tiger wrestlers fall to Lindenwood

ST. CHARLES, Mo. -- The Fort Hays State University wrestling team, ranked No. 6 in NCAA Division II, lost in a dual at Lindenwood University on Sunday, 21-11.
FHSU trailed 6-0 after losing its first two matches, including a loss by Adam Ludwin, the nation's No. 8-ranked wrestler at 125 pounds, in an 11-4 decision to Marco Tamayo.
C.J. Napier, No. 5 at 141 pounds, got the Tigers on the board with a 9-3 decision over LU's Kyle Webb. FHSU would only get two more wins on the day: Mitchell Means at 157 pounds over Derrick Weller (pin in 6:29) and Bryce Lewis at 174 pounds over Morgan Fitzgerald (5-3 decision).
Lindenwood won the final three matches of the evening, including a loss by Tiger heavyweight Trey Page, No. 7 nationally, to LU's Steven Butler, No. 8 nationally, in a 6-3 decision.
The loss drops FHSU to 8-5-1, 2-3 MIAA in duals this season. LU improved to 5-2, 3-2 MIAA. The Tigers will wrap up their regular season on Tuesday at Truman in Kirksville, Mo., starting at 7:30 p.m.
FHSU will host the MIAA Tournament on Sunday at Gross Memorial Coliseum.
