Hays High golfers second in Dodge City

DODGE CITY -- The Hays High School boys' golf team took second place in the 12-team field at the Dodge City Invitational on Thursday, played at the Mariah Hills Golf Course.
The Indians finished with a four-player score of 316 to tie with Garden City High School, but won via a tiebreaker after Hays High's fifth golfer recorded the higher score. Host Dodge City High School won the tournament convincingly with 292.
Thomas More Prep-Marian took seventh place with a team score of 341.
Junior Nathan Romme paced the Indians with his 6-over-par 77, good for ninth place. Sophomore Payton Ruder and senior Lane Clark each shot 79 to tie for 12th, and senior Kaden Beilman finished 21st with an 81. Senior Chase Lynd's 82 and junior Cash Hobson's 83 rounded out the scoring.
Dodge City went 1-2-3 in the individual scoring, led by Levi Bone's 4-under-par 67. Jace Larson took second with 73 and Kameron Miller third with 74.
Hays High competes again today in Salina. Tee time was set for 3 p.m.
