7 wins in a row for HHS soccer

GREAT BEND -- The Hays High School girls' soccer team cruised to its seventh consecutive win and remained perfect in the WAC after a 5-0 victory at Great Bend on Monday.
The Indians scored 10 minutes into the game with a goal by freshman Tressa Becker, assisted by senior Lacey Pfannenstiel. Hays High was kept off the board the rest of the half and led 1-0 at the break.
In the ninth minute of the second half, junior Brooke Russell made it 2-0 after senior Blair Street set her up for a goal.
Five minutes later the score became 3-0 in favor of Hays High with a goal by freshman Courtney Molleker, assisted by Pfannenstiel.
Pfannenstiel got a goal of her own in the 19th minute to make it 4-0. The Indians final goal was scored by senior defender Reagan Kaiser, a third assist going to Pfannenstiel.
Hays High is now 9-2, 6-0 in the Western Athletic Conference. The Indians last four games, all against WAC opponents, have been won by a combined 13-1. They also defeated Great Bend, 2-0, on April 15.
The Indians' next opponent will be Thomas More Prep-Marian (3-2) on Thursday at the Bickle/Schmidt Sports Complex. TMP also plays at Wichita Independent on Wednesday.
