Herman, Hecker, Kaup advance at Kansas Am

Hays' Trey Herman advanced to match play at the 104th Kansas Amateur Match Play Championship.

Through two rounds, Herman was five-over par after he was even in the second round of stroke play with a 70 at Mission Hills Country Club. The five-over, two-round total, tied him for 21st place. Match play was set to begin today.

Russell's Jordan Hecker and Phillipsburg's Doug Kaup also advanced as part of the top 64. Hecker shot a 72 Wedensday to finish seven over for the two rounds in a tie for 32nd. Kaup was eight-over on Day 2, and finished 10 over in the two rounds in 56th place.

Ellis' Skyler Tebo shot 12-over in his second round, and missed the match play cut with a 164.
