Survey work will begin Jan. 2
KDOT survey work will begin Jan. 2
Starting Jan. 2 and continuing for approximately three months, a team from the Kansas Department of Transportation will survey along Kansas Highway 23 in Sheridan County.
The survey work will take place along the corridor beginning at Hoxie and extending north 18 miles to the U.S. Highway 83 junction.
The survey is necessary for the detailed design of the pavement replacement (Practical Improvement project) and guard fence improvements along the corridor. Construction will begin sometime in 2014.
Survey activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of features within the survey corridor. When it becomes necessary for crew members to enter private property, they first will obtain permission from the landowner or tenant.
