New physician joins HaysMed
Aron Splichal, D.O., joined HaysMed on Wednesday.
Dr. Splichal received a bachelor of science degree in biology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1999. In 2005, he completed a master of forensic science at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln. He graduated with a medical degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Mo., in 2007. Splichal recently completed a fellowship in body and breast imaging at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.
"I am very excited about the opportunity to practice radiology at HaysMed," Splichal said. "I look forward to providing excellent patient care as well as forming strong working relationships with the physicians, nurses and technicians already practicing in Hays."
Splichal and HaysMed were matched through the Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center. The KRRC, which provides placement and retention assistance to rural and underserved health organizations, seeks to enhance the quality and quantity of health care professionals in rural and underserved Kansas by helping providers like Splichal find a practice in Kansas. The KRRC is a not-for-profit program of Rural Health Education and Services at the University of Kansas Medical Center.
"Dr. Splichal will be an outstanding addition to our medical staff, and we are so pleased that he and his wife have decided to make Hays their home," said Myron Applequist, executive director of medical staff development at HaysMed. "We appreciate all the support the staff at the Kansas Recruitment and Retention Center has provided in bringing Dr. Splichal to our community."
