Other incidents reported during the Oktoberfest weekend:

* A Hays man was arrested Friday night at Golden Q Bar and Grill, 809 Ash, on a charge of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer. An agent from the state Alcohol Beverage Control office was in the bar when he intervened in a verbal confrontation between two individuals. Hays Police Chief Don Scheibler said the agent identified himself and one of the people in the confrontation held a beer bottle in a threatening manner.

"The agent felt he was about to get struck and took him into custody," Scheibler said of the individual.

* There was the report of a robbery at Home Party Club, 229 W. 10th, early Sunday morning. A patron of the bar arrived and set her purse down on the table but got up to dance or mingle with other people. Scheibler said she saw someone pick up her purse and went to grab it back.

"He pulled it away from her," he said, which makes it a robbery.

The man disappeared into the crowd.

Later, however, the purse was found in the men's bathroom.

"They also found five other purses in the men's bathroom," Scheibler said.

"The lesson here to be learned is you go to public events, public places, you have to be responsible for your property," he said. "There are people out there who want to victimize people."

Scheibler said the person taking the purse was identified as a heavy-set Hispanic male, about 5-feet, 7-inches tall, wearing a sweatshirt and blue jeans. He was thought to be in his early 20s. Scheibler said the bar is cooperating in trying to identify the person.

* Authorities received the report of a fight stemming from a sex offense report at Singers, 114 E. 12th. There, Scheibler said, a woman reported she was touched inappropriately by a male, and as the man was being evicted from the bar, he hit a bar employee twice.

The 32-year-old man was arrested for aggravated sexual battery and disorderly conduct.

* A domestic disturbance was reported at approximately 3 p.m. Sunday at Midway Apartments, 500 E. 20th, reported to police as a fight in progress. While both people reportedly were fighting in the parking lot, the incident escalated when the woman, a resident of Amarillo, Texas, allegedly retrieved a liquor bottle from a vehicle and hit the man over the head. He suffered a cut to the top of his head, Scheibler said, and was taken to Hays Medical Center.

She was arrested for aggravated battery, and he was arrested for domestic battery.

* A fight between two men was reported at approximately 8 p.m. Sunday, an altercation that apparently started as a result of a separate domestic incident.

One of the men was hospitalized with serious back injuries, and his car was damaged. The investigation into that incident still is ongoing.

* The community's Safe Ride program provided 1,005 rides to Oktoberfest celebrants between the bonfire activities Thursday night through post-game celebrations Sunday morning.
