Work on 281 will begin Tuesday

RUSSELL -- On Tuesday, a job to repave a section of U.S. Highway 281 in Russell County is scheduled to begin.
The work will begin at the Barton/Russell county line and continue north to the Interstate 70 interchange.
Flaggers and a pilot car operation will guide one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours. Delays of 15 minutes or less are to be expected.
KDOT awarded the construction contract -- totaling approximately $1,322,960 -- to Venture Corp., Great Bend.
Weather permitting, this construction job will be complete by late September.
