Weekend accidents send 3 to hospital


Separate weekend accidents in Thomas County sent three out-of-state motorists to local hospitals.

At approximately 1:45 p.m. Saturday, a sport-utility vehicle and semi were eastbound on Interstate 70 when the SUV ran into the back of the semi, according to a Kansas Highway Patrol report. The driver of the semi was not injured. The driver and passenger of the SUV, Larraine and William Hildebrant, Warr Acres, Okla., were taken to Citizens Medical Center, Colby, with injuries. Both were wearing seat belts, according to the report.

The accident occurred approximately 1 mile east of the Brewster exit on I-70.

On Sunday, a semi was northbound on Kansas Highway 25 when it entered the east ditch and overturned onto its passenger side, according to a KHP report. The driver was not injured, but passenger David Leroy Harris Jr., 51, Moulton, Ala., was taken to Logan County Hospital, Oakley, with possible injuries.
