Fred Hunt book signing: 7 to 9 p.m.
Hays Arts Center Gallery
Hunt's book, "The Sound of Silence: A Journey of Recovery," combines unique photographic depictions of the American Southwest with Hunts' personal accounts of his struggles with alcoholism, recovery and loss.
FHSU band concert: 7:30 p.m., Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center
Featuring the symphonic winds and wind ensemble
Admission: $6 adults, $4 seniors and children younger than 12. Children 11 and younger and FHSU students are admitted free.
Christmas Open House at the Ellis County Historical Society Museum: 7 to 9 p.m.
18th annual celebration with musical acts, refreshments, horse-drawn tours of downtown.

Christmas Past at Historic Fort Hays: 7 to 9 p.m.
Volunteers in period clothing will provide music in a Victorian atmosphere, as walkways between historic buildings are illuminated with candle lanterns. Horse-drawn wagon rides, hot fried apples, and Father Christmas with bags of goodies round out the evening.
$2 adults, children 12 and younger free
