(MCT) The 200 and 300 blocks of North Roosevelt will be the destination for this year's College Hill Garden/Architectural/Historical Tour on June 21.

The brick-lined blocks hold some heavyweight brick houses -- three former Symphony Showhouses and the Frank Lloyd Wright house.

The tour will give ticket-holders historical and architectural information about each of the houses on the block, and the gardens of six of the houses will be available for browsing, including that of the Frank Lloyd Wright house. The tour will not enter any of the houses, and visitors are asked to stay on paved areas and sidewalks.

You probably have not realized until you walk the tour that the two blocks also contain a Storybook house, an excellent example of Mid-Century Modern architecture, a castle-like Tudor Revival house whose garden has an actual door for an entrance, and a light blue Colonial Revival for a whole different flavor.

Tickets are $6 and will be available at three stations on Roosevelt during the tour, which will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 21. Children under 12 get in free. Proceeds benefit the College Hill Neighborhood Association, which sponsors the tour.
