(MCT) Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in downtown Wichita Wednesday evening.

A man called 911 at about 6:45 p.m. to report that he had been shot while driving near Central and Washington and that he was driving himself to the hospital, a Sedgwick County dispatcher said. He drove to Via Christi Hospital St. Francis.

The victim reported that the suspect left the area in a white 2003 or 2004 Pontiac Bonneville that had a 60-day license tag.
