(MCT) A Goddard man faces an arraignment hearing Tuesday in a Texas court on a federal sex charge.
Paul Francis Grimm, 42, was indicted last month by a grand jury in Galveston, Texas, on one count of taking a minor from Ohio across state lines with the intent of having sex with her, according to court records.
At the hearing, he will have the opportunity to plead guilty or not guilty and to request a jury trial.
Grimm was arrested March 29 in Galveston after he and the girl, who is under 18, got off a cruise ship, according to the criminal complaint.
U.S. Customs found naked pictures of the girl on Grimm's cellphone. The girl told FBI agents she had sex with Grimm.
Grimm met the girl in Ohio when he lived there several years ago and paid her airfare to fly to Galveston. The girl was a family acquaintance, the complaint said.
A senior master sergeant in the Kansas Air National Guard, Grimm is stationed at McConnell Air Force Base. He is being held Galveston County Jail.
