Hair from Topeka murder scene to get DNA testing

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- A strand of hair found at the scene of a Topeka couple's murder in 2002 will be tested for DNA evidence, even though the test will consume the hair.
A judge granted a prosecution request Thursday to conduct DNA testing on the hair found in the Topeka home where Mike Sisco and Karen Harkness were killed in July 2002.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that (http://bit.ly/wzkhWM) the hair was found attached to a shell casing recovered at the scene.
Sisco's ex-wife, 52-year-old Dana L. Chandler, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder. Her attorneys objected to the testing.
Chandler was arrested in late July after investigators found her in Duncan, Okla.
Her trial is scheduled to start March 5.
