Hospital ER to relocate next week as part of project

The Hutchinson Regional Medical Center Emergency Room will relocate on Tuesday as a part of the ongoing construction project that will nearly double the size of the department.

The ER will relocate to the hospital's Intensive Care Unit on the main floor of the hospital, according to hospital officials, with the ICU temporarily moved to the hospital's fourth floor.

If all goes as planned, the relocation should be done by noon that day, said Kevin Miller, hospital president and CEO.

"This ER move is the final relocation of hospital facilities for the duration of the expansion project," Miller said.

Signage will direct the public to park and enter the ER on the northwest side of the hospital.

The hospital will post updates on its website, www.hutchregional.com on an as-needed basis.
