Trial May 18 in alleged rape of elderly patient

SALINA, Kan. (AP) -- A man charged with raping an elderly patient at a Salina hospital will go on trial May 18.

Paul Henry Parker Jr. pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple charges of rape and attempted rape for the alleged rape of a woman in her 90s.

Parker's attorney, Mark Dinkel, also is seeking a change of venue in the case.

The 46-year-old Parker was arrested Feb. 20 at the hospital. He is charged with one count of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of aggravated sexual battery and one count of aggravated burglary.

He also is charged with two misdemeanor counts of battery.
