The 2014 SculptureWalk in downtown Hutchinson will have more than a little touch of whimsy with the return of Wichita artist Nelson Escalante and three more of his imagination-stretching sculptures and the Hutchinson debut of Kimber Fiebiger of Minneapolis, Minnesota, with a series of four versions of Humpty-Dumpty.

Local artist Don Lind and Gregory Johnson of Cumming, Georgia, are back for the third time. Lind will have one sculpture along the walk and Johnson two.

In addition to 10 new sculptures, two other popular sculptures from the 2013 SculptureWalk are being held over for a second season: Sondra L. Johnson's "Canteen Lady" and Karen Crain's "Comforter."

The Hutchinson City Council will formally approve display agreements with the artists on Tuesday, and the sculptures will be installed at points along Main Street between Seventh Avenue and Avenue B over the next two weeks, according to Assistant City Manager Meryl Dye.

The sculptures will be on display through May 2015 after a kickoff reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Hutchinson Art Center, 405 N. Washington St. The winner of the Juror's Prize of $1,000, as selected by Reuben Saunders of The Gallery at ARTWORKS in Wichita, also will be announced then.

As usual, a brochure including a map and short description of each sculpture will be available.

In the meantime, these are the sculptures and the locations where you will find them once they are installed:

--"Books Flying Off the Shelf," by Gregory Johnson, will be on the northeast corner of Third Avenue and Main.

--"Gathering of the Magnificent," by Gregory Johnson, will be on the northwest corner of First Avenue and Main.

--"Prairie Windsong," by Don Lind, will be on the southeast corner of First Avenue and Main.

--"Egghead," by Kimber Fiebiger, will be the west side of Main near Third Avenue.

--"H.D.," by Kimber Fiebiger, will be on the west side of Main near Third Avenue.

--"Mr. Eggwards," by Kimber Fiebiger, will on the southeast corner of Fourth Avenue and Main.

--"Eggcited," by Kimber Fiebiger, will be on the southeast corner of Main and Sherman.

--"Biker Schick," by Nelson Escalante, will be on the southeast corner of Seventh Avenue and Main.

--"Musicale," by Nelson Escalante, will be on the northwest corner of Second Avenue and Main.

--"Pink Meditations," by Nelson Escalante, will be north of Avenue A on the west side of Main.

--"Comforter," by Karen Crain, is a holdover from last year, on the southeast corner of Main and Avenue A.

--"Canteen Lady," by Sondra L. Johnson, is the other holdover from last year and it remains on the northeast corner of Avenue B and Main, in front of the Anchor Inn.
