Man charged with 1st degree murder in Lyons death

Eds: APNewsNow.

LYONS, Kan. (AP) -- A Lyons man has been charged with first-degree murder in the stabbing death of a 31-year-old Lyons woman in her home.

Prosecutors say 35-year-old Armando Mosqueda killed Jeannie Jacobsen Sunday morning. He was arrested later Sunday in Baytown, Texas, where he has family.

Mosqueda was charged Monday and is being held without bond in Texas awaiting extradition to Kansas.

Lyons Police Chief Chris Detmer declined to release many details of Jacobsen's death. He says Mosqueda and Jacobsen were in a troubled relationship. He says Jacobsen, a mother of three, had recently obtained a restraining order against Mosqueda.
