Woman found dead in Lyons home

Eds: APNewsNow.

LYONS, Kan. (AP) -- Lyons police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at her home during the weekend as a homicide.

Lyons Police Chief Chris Detmer says the search for a suspect in the woman's death on Sunday has expanded across the country.

Officials have not released the identity of the woman. They also have not discussed possible suspects or how the woman died.

Detmer says the woman's estranged husband found her body Sunday morning after finding that a door had been kicked in at the home.

Detmer says the couple were separated but shared custody of a young child, so he often checked on the victim. He says at this point, the husband is not a suspect.
