Eds: APNewsNow.

PORTIS, Kan. (AP) -- Jury selection begins Monday in north-central Kansas in what is considered one of the most violent crimes in Osborne County in recent memory.

Kenneth Wilson of Salina is charged with premeditated first-degree murder of Portis resident Jeffery "Scott" Noel during a burglary in March 2008.

Wilson also faces charges of aggravated burglary and criminal possession of a firearm.

The trial is scheduled to last two weeks. If convicted, Wilson faces the possibility of life in prison.
