The Wichita Eagle reported that Dwyer had been in custody at Winfield since Nov. 18. He has a history of convictions for burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and drug possession out of Sedgwick, Sumner, Cowley, Wilson, Butler and Greenwood counties.

Purdy had been in custody at Winfield since Nov. 16. His criminal history includes burglary, theft, arson and criminal damage to property out of Sedgwick and Labette counties.

A prison official said in a phone interview Saturday with The Associated Press that the inmates had not been caught.
