Kansas woman sentenced in discount-store killing

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) -- A 19-year-old woman is being sent to juvenile prison until she's 22 1/2 for her role in a northeast Kansas discount-store manager's 2005 slaying.
Prosecutors say Amber Russell was sentenced Wednesday in Wyandotte County juvenile court.
Russell was 15 at the time of the killing. She pleaded guilty last month to charges of first-degree murder, aggravated kidnapping and aggravated robbery.
Prosecutors agreed not to charge her as an adult in exchange for the plea and her testimony against co-defendants John Backus and Robert Haberlein. The two were sentenced in March to life in prison with no chance of parole for 50 years.
The defendants participated in a Dollar General Store robbery in Bonner Springs that led to the beating death of 44-year-old manager Robin Bell.
