Kan. Senate roll call on anti-abortion bill
With BC-KS-XGR--Abortion
TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) -- The 25-13 vote Thursday night by which the Senate failed to override a veto of a bill dealing with late-term abortions.
A "yes" vote was a vote to override the veto. A "no" vote was a vote to sustain the veto.
Supporters of the bill needed a two-thirds majority, or 27 votes, to override the veto.
Of the 31 Republicans, 24 voted "yes," six voted "no" and one did not vote.
Of the nine Democrats, one voted "yes," seven voted "no" and one did not vote.
