Wayne, Neb. schools have new superintendent

Eds: APNewsNow.

WAYNE, Neb. (AP) -- Wayne Community Schools in northeast Nebraska has hired a new superintendent.

School officials say Mark Lenihan, currently a school principal in Battle Creek, has been offered the position.

Formal approval by the Wayne Community Schools Board of Education is pending completion of Lenihan's employment contract.

Prior to his current position, Lenihan was with St. Bernard's Schools in Minnesota.

Lenihan replaces former superintendent Joseph Reinert, who resigned in December following nearly 10 years with the district.
