Coach Erin Kinberger collected her 100th career victory in just her third season and the Fort Hays State University softball team split a home doubleheader against Lindenwood (Mo.) University on Sunday afternoon at Tiger Stadium. The Tigers won the first contest, 5-2, and then lost the second game, 10-3. Kinberger collected her 100th victory in the first game. Fort Hays went 31-19 two years ago, a school record 47-12 last spring and currently stand at 22-13, 11-5 MIAA. Lindenwood improved to 11-14, 5-5 MIAA.

In Game 1, sophomore Paxton Duran moved to 13-6 with her fifth consecutive complete game. She allowed two runs on seven hits. Fort Hays and Lindenwood were tied 2-2 entering the bottom of the third when senior shortstop Kellsi Olsen had a RBI groundout. In the fifth, FHSU moved the lead to 4-2 on another run-scoring groundout. In the sixth, FHSU tacked on its final run on another RBI groundout.

In Game 2, sophomore Kelsey Kimminau (8-5) allowed four runs (none earned) in 1.2 innings. Senior Katlyn Kern entered in the second and allowed six runs in five innings. FHSU is on the road for the next month starting with a doubleheader Friday at Missouri Western.
